NOTICE TO ELECTORS FOR COUNCIL NOMINATIONS
Municipal government act
PURSUANT TO SECTION 42 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT,
AND SUBSECTION 25(1) OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION REGULATIONS
Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Rural Municipalities of Hunter River, North Wiltshire and Hampshire that a Municipal Election will be held on Monday, November 2, 2026 to elect the Mayor and 6 councilor(s) each, for the Rural Municipalities of Hunter River, North Wiltshire and Hampshire for the term of office terminating on the 6th day of December 2030.
The nomination period for the council positions noted above opens on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 and closes at 2:00 pm on Nomination Day, Friday, October 16, 2026.
Nominations can be received at the election office located at the Hunter River Community Centre, 19816 Route 2, Hunter River by the Municipal Electoral Officer (MEO) or Returning Officer at the following times:
· October 7,8,13,14,15 and 16, 2026 between 9am and 2pm.
Candidates are responsible for confirming their eligibility to be nominated prior to submitting their nomination form.
The deadline for correcting elector information shall be no later than 11:59 am on October 20, 2026.
